Privacy policy

Aikarthya Foundation (CIN U88900TS2025NPL198730, Hyderabad) runs www.aikarthya.org.in. This page explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We follow India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

What we collect

• When you contribute: your title, name, mobile number and email, the contribution you chose, your consent, and the payment and subscription references Razorpay sends us. We never receive your card number, UPI PIN or bank password. We keep what you entered even if you leave before paying; we contact you about it only if you agreed to hear from us.
• If you complete the donor profile after contributing: your full name as on your PAN card, your PAN, date of birth and current address; if you wish, a link to your Instagram, LinkedIn or Facebook profile; and whether you agree to appear on our website, with the public name, short note and photo you choose for it. We keep only your PAN number, never a copy of the card. Your email and mobile are the ones you gave at checkout.

The site does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Razorpay's payment window may set its own cookies to process your payment securely.

How we use it

• to take and confirm your contributions, and to keep monthly payments running until you stop them;
• to send receipts, tax certificates and replies to your messages;
• to send the newsletter or birthday card that comes with your contribution;
• to show your name, photo or note on our site, only if you ticked the box to allow it;
• to keep the accounts and donation records the law requires, including those we keep for the Income Tax Department with your PAN and the name on it.

We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.

Who processes it for us

• Razorpay: processes payments and, for regular contributions, sets up and runs the auto-debit you approve with your bank, card or UPI app.
• Trusted service providers: companies that host our website, store our records and run our email, under contracts that require them to keep your information safe and use it only for us. Contribution records are stored in India.

Each handles your information only to provide its service to us. We may also share it where the law requires, for example with tax authorities.

How long we keep it

• Payment and receipt records: as long as Indian tax and company law requires.
• Your PAN and the name on it: as long as Indian tax law requires, like payment records.
• The rest of your donor profile: until you ask us to remove it, or 2 years after your last contribution.
• Emails: 2 years after the conversation ends.

Your choices

• Ask to see, correct or delete your information, or to withdraw a consent you gave, such as appearing on our site.
• We may keep payment records we are legally required to hold even after you ask us to delete the rest.
• We reply within 30 days.

Keeping it safe

Payments are handled by Razorpay; we never see or store your card number, UPI PIN or bank password. Your information travels over encrypted connections, and only the people and systems that need it can reach it.
